If there is a city in Asia that will keep you entertained and exhausted with fun at the end of the day, it’s Taipei. Singaporeans may do away with the language barrier which might be eminent in Hong Kong, but at the same time, if you do not understand Mandarin, it is just as easy to plough through the streets and alleys of great food and activities.

We took Jetstar 3K521. Depart SG @ 1350 and Arrived in Taipei @ 1830.
I believe the tickets we bought were pretty cheap @ SGD350/pax. =D

TIP 1: If you're going to book your online air ticket from Jetstar, try to book the seats on the emergency exit row (12 & 13). This will give you 100% more leg space. And privelege to board the plane first too (depends though).

TIP 2: Exchange rate at Taoyuan airport is better than Singapore. Look out for 兆丰counter located at the center of both custom sides. They give the best rate.

Note: There is no Money Changer in Taipei City, if really in need to change currency will have to go to the banks, and only the big banks accept Singapore currency - troublesome and not worth.

  • Our flight on 9April was delayed and we got an extra one day more to walk around Taipei. Supposed to depart at 1910 but was delayed till 2200hrs.

We visited 新光三越 Departmental Store and took a walk around the neighbourhood - Taipei Main Station, ending with our last meal - dinner 2 MacDonald. As it was a Friday, it was really a sight for us, the surrounding of Taipei Mian Station is super popular with students! with lotsa of tuition centres around. And you can see students queuing to enter the building for tuition classes!

All in all, we have a nice trip and I am really amaze by the friendliness and helpfulness of the Taiwan people. They are very hospitable and courteous. We Singaporeans really have a lot to learn from them.
